Module assignments

Comment/Description

How do we think about and conceptualize the future? What can the humanities contribute to cultural and political imaginaries of the future? How does speculative thinking inform literature and popular culture? We will address these and further questions through theoretical engagements with the concepts and approaches of Future Studies as well as critical essays and speculative short fiction. All course materials will be provided via Digicampus and reserved readings in the library.

Please note that for the modules EAS-1854 and EAS-1914, this Übung must be combined with the Seminar “Utopia from More to Hope- and Solarpunk” (Prof. McPherson).

Studierende der Anglistik/Amerikanistik und des Faches Englisch können sich bereits während der vorgezogenen Anmeldephase zur Sicherstellung des Studienfortschritts für die Aufbau- und Vertiefungsmodule anmelden. Hierzu wird ein gewisses Kontingent der Kursplätze im Zeitraum vom 12.08.2024 bis 28.08.2024 für die Anmeldung geöffnet. Die Verteilung der Plätze erfolgt am 30.08.2024. Bitte beachten Sie, dass in dieser Anmeldephase Studierende in höheren Fachsemestern bei der Verteilung der Plätze priorisiert werden.
Die allgemeine Anmeldephase beginnt am 02.09.2024 und endet am 07.10.2024.

  • The following categories of people are preferred during seat allocation:
    • Degree is Master of Arts (1131 persons)
  • A defined number of seats will be assigned to these courses.
    The seats in the affected courses have been assigned at 09.10.2024 on 12:00. Additional seats may be available via a wait list.
