Kommentar/Beschreibung

Life as a doctoral researcher can be both exciting and demanding: deadlines, high expectations, cultural diversity, and rapid changes in science and society. In this dynamic environment, taking care of your mental health is not about weakness – it’s about strengthening your ability to thrive.

This interactive workshop combines evidence-based knowledge with practical, fun exercises that are easy to integrate into everyday university life.

Together, we will explore:

• Why mental health is more important than ever in today’s fast-changing world.
• Core psychological needs and how they impact motivation and resilience.
• Healthy ways to deal with uncertainty, stress, and setbacks.
• Essential soft skills for the future of work.
• Everyday tools for balance, focus, and emotional regulation.

Expect inspiring inputs, reflection questions, and small practices you can directly apply to manage challenges more effectively — while keeping your well-being in focus.

Join us to discover how small shifts can make a big difference in your PhD journey — and beyond.

The workshop is led by Birgit Schwinn from the Academy of Mental Health. Ms Schwinn has extensive experience of delivering mental health courses for leading German research institutions such as the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Fraunhofer Institute. This workshop will be given for the first time at the University of Augsburg.
