Kommentar/Beschreibung

The two-part seminar begins in the fall semester with the development of hypotheses on digital health communication effects. We will pay particular attention to the most recent implications and changes introduced by the popularity of generative AI including large language models (LLMs) and visual AI. Several groups will collaborate on creating a conceptual model and an experimental design to investigate a specific aspect of the model. Based on the most recent literature in communication and related fields, each group will develop specific hypotheses that can be tested empirically. In the fall semester, the conceptual model and the research design will be developed, stimulus materials will be pretested, and Study 1 data will be collected, analyzed, and presented leading to a final research paper. This will pave the way for an independent Study 2, which will take place as a follow-up in the following spring semester.
