Kommentar/Beschreibung

The goal of this seminar is to examine the theory and practice of (English) discourse, focusing on cohesion and coherence across contexts and discourse domains, information structure and thematic structure with respect to marked and unmarked configurations, the encoding an dsignalling of coordinating and subordinating discourse relations, and discourse genre. Particular attention is given to the forms and functions of English discourse.
