Wichtiger Hinweis: Die erste Sitzung des Seminars wird erst am 06.12.2024 abgehalten. Das Seminar findet vom 06.12.2024 bis zum 31.01.2025 statt.
In the last 5 decades, Brazil has become an eminently urban society, with large metropolises accounting for a large part of the population. A significant portion of this population lives in the outskirts of cities and favelas, where various forms of violence are common, and children are frequent victims, whether at school, on the streets of the communities, and, above all, at home. Although well-known, the context of the experience of violence experienced by children in these urban contexts is relatively little investigated in sociology. Several factors contribute to the limited sociological study of this reality experienced by children, including the lack of adequate methods for such studies and, a previous issue, the need to create bonds of trust and strategies for accessing these urban environments. Based on the professor's own research experiences and research results in these urban environments, the seminar will discuss challenges for sociological research in violent urban environments, especially in relation to methods and building trust, an aspect little discussed in contemporary sociology.
