Comment/Description

• Introduction and background: classical computation, postulates of quantum mechanics, density matrix.
• Quantum computation: qubit, quantum gates, quantum circuit model of computation.
• Quantum algorithms: Deutsch's algorithm, quantum search, quantum Fourier transform.
• Quantum noise and decoherence: Kraus representation, qubit decoherence models, master equation.
• Physical realizations of quantum computers: cavity quantum electrodynamics, ion traps, solid-state qubits, others.
• Quantum error-correction: theory of quantum error-correction, stabilizer codes, decoherence-free subspaces, dynamical decoupling, fault-tolerant quantum computation.
