This lecture provides an overview of the most relevant topics, theories, and empirical findings in science, crisis, health, environmental, and risk communication (COM SHER). The lecture will shed light on models, the role of social media and AI, misinformation, and strategies for effective audience engagement across diverse contexts. Digital health communication receives particular attention, emphasizing the role of messaging in shaping perceptions, influencing behavior, and guiding treatment decisions especially in digital environments. Topics also tap into aspects of cultural identity, and the impact of emotion-driven messaging on public health outcomes. Additionally, the lecture examines the influence of social media on health trends and explores advanced strategies such as message framing and tailored communication to enhance effectiveness.
