Comment/Description

The course is an introduction to the archaeology protohistoric Italy (late 2nd-1st millennium BC), with particular emphasis for material culture, settlement systems, craft productions, international trade routes, ritual, and religious practices in the period from the Middle Bronze Age (ca. 1650 BC) to the Roman conquest. We will especially explore a series of selected ethno-cultural entities, including e.g. Etruscan, Venetian, Raetic, and Nuragic people, as well as early Latins.
