This course introduces students to important concepts, genres, terms and methods of analysis in Anglophone literary studies. It offers systematic knowledge of genres in literary studies (poetry, drama, narrative, film), gives an introduction to the diverse theoretical contexts of the study of literature (literary theory), and provides basic information about the historical development of English literature.
