Miscellanea	After the lecture period we offer a seminar in analysis, where different analytical aspects of some of the derived models are discussed (such as the Navier Stokes or Euler equations). This seminar can be attended also independently from the lecture.

Comment/Description

Mathematical modelling is the process of transferring a real world system into a mathematical formulation (e.g. an ordinary or partial differential equation) , whose analytical and numerical analysis allows to draw conclusions for the original system of application. Such mathematical models are often used in the natural sciences, engineering sciences, social sciences, economics or medicine. In this lecture, we focus on the derivation of suitable models, in particular in the context of continuum mechanics.
