Comment/Description

This seminar is for exchange students at the University of Augsburg. Its main aim is to explore the German (academic) culture. This course will help the students find out how to deal with the challenges they might face in Germany. Reading materials will be provided, and the students can try out (interactive) tasks and develop their own ways of coping with the new and unfamiliar. They will have (online) contact withother international students and will have the opportunity to share their experiences with them and learn from each other. Mutual feedback and online discussions also help the students gain interesting insights into German culture and the way the other experience it. It is important to develop theirown strategies which are useful to master intercultural encounters and misunderstandings.

Seminar participants are expected to participate actively, as this seminar course thrives on rich discussions and exchange of personal intercultural experiences. No previous knowledge or courses about Germany are necessary to participate in this course.
