Comment/Description

This interactive lecture will provide an overview of key aspects and current debates in the field of TEFL (Teaching and Learning English as a Foreign Language). Participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the topics: European and national language learning policies, language teacher education and development, (second) language learning theories, individual differences, language teaching methodology, the teaching, learning and testing of the language domains (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar) and the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as well as culture, media and literature in the foreign language classroom.
If required by your study course, also register for one of the compulsory supplementary courses. Please note that the supplementary course must be attended in the same semester as the lecture. The topics of both courses are relevant for the final exam.
The lecture is also accompanied by a weekly tutorial for revising and consolidating knowledge.
