Kommentar/Beschreibung

This seminar equips students and researchers in medicine and related disciplines with the methodological and practical expertise to plan, conduct, and document systematic literature reviews in accordance with international standards such as PRISMA 2020. The course begins with an introduction to exploratory reviews and gap analysis, enabling participants to map the existing research landscape and identify areas where evidence is lacking. Building on these insights, participants will learn to refine their research focus and formulate precise, answerable research questions that provide the foundation for a rigorous review. It is designed for students, doctoral candidates and researchers who wish to strengthen their methodological skills and enhance the quality and impact of their research.

A further core element is the development of a well-structured protocol ensuring transparency and methodological clarity from the outset. Participants will then acquire advanced search skills for medical databases, learning comprehensive search strategies that aim to capture all relevant literature. Special attention is given to the use of AI-based tools to support the various steps of the process, optimising efficiency while maintaining scientific rigor.

Through a combination of theoretical input, methodological guidance, and hands-on exercises, this seminar is intended to prepare participants to produce systematic reviews that are methodologically sound, strategically focused, and capable of forming a reliable basis for scientific work and publications.
