Comment/Description

After a brief introduction on the geography, periodization, and history of the studies, the course will provide a broad overview on the Ancient Egyptian society, material culture, urban planning, architecture, burial customs, religion, and iconography with specific emphasis for their continuity and/or adaptation during the Graeco-Roman period. We will also devote specific attention to a series of myths and misconceptions associated with the reception of Ancient Egypt in the modern world.
