Comment/Description

This survey course is the second of a four-part series covering English literary history from the 16th century to the present. This term we will focus on English literature of the so-called "Long Eighteenth Century", thus including the Restoration, the Augustan Age and the beginnings of Romanticism at the turn of the 19th century (Pre-Romanticism / Sensibility).

In this course, participants are expected to read a wide range of textual samples and examples by relevant authors. A reader with assorted texts will be available at the beginning of term.
