The course gives a systematic overview of the mobile communication technology and location based services (LBS). During the course the following topics will be covered: LBS needs for GIS;mobile communication technology; location based services; mobile industry. The course describes most common services in EU and in the world. The geographical aspects of the use of LBS and its influences on the society are analysed.
