Comment/Description

(Prüfungsform: Seminararbeit, Prüfungsumfang: 21-25 Seiten; Prüfungsdauer: 6 Wochen) Based on readings and discussions of selected representative texts this course introduces theories and methods of North American Studies, and provides an overview over central concerns and research questions in the field. The texts will specifically focus on cultural, historical and literary perspectives - and, importantly, show how these perspectives are most often closely connected. In this way the course will provide you with an overview of different methods and topics of North American Studies.
The course is required for students in the NAS Master, but it is likewise open and to students in the English and American Studies Master and MA / LAGym students of History with an interest in North America and interdisciplinary approaches.
