The field of political communication is rapidly changing due to the growing importance of new political actors like YouTubers and other political Influencers on Instagram or TIKTOK. These new actors complement the landscape of established political actors and mediate between the public and the political system. In the seminar we will analyze the new intermediaries on the makro, meso and micro level. We will identify and classify different political influencers, ask for their communication styles and relationship to established actors and classical media. Finally, we will ask, whether political influencers are real mediators, brokers of political information and are facilitating political participation. There will be no final examination: Students will carry out different small tests and tasks during the semester (portfolio examination).

Es wird eine festgelegte Anzahl von Plätzen in den Veranstaltungen verteilt.

Die Anmeldung zu maximal 1 Veranstaltungen des Anmeldesets ist erlaubt.
