This is a companion course to the seminar "HS Perspectives on word order: diachronic, comparative and stylistic" (Modul Theories & Methods). It will introduce Master students of English and American Studies to the most widely applied methods and frameworks in current linguistic research. The course will likewise have students explore the basic principles, techniques and tools of linguistic research, necessary to grasp, section and intepret spoken and written discourse on multiple levels of analysis.
