NOTE FOR MA ANIS STUDENTS (EAS-2888): This is a companion course to Ü "Grice Revisited"
The lexicon of a language is the part most prone to fast change, partly because it is more closely connected to sociocultural developments or to human cognitive and psychological dispositions. We will focus in particular on how form-meaning pairings evolve over time and why this happens in particular ways. Words may change their meaning, e.g. due to extralinguistic change, to emotional needs or to politeness consideration. Whole word fields may expand, contract or change internally because of a combination of extra- and intralinguistic factors. Language contact may lead to the morphological diversification of a semantic area such as negation (e.g. un-, in-, dis- etc.). We will look at such developments with the help of existing (digital) tools such as dictionaries, thesauri and corpora.

Es wird eine festgelegte Anzahl von Plätzen in den Veranstaltungen verteilt.
Die Plätze in den betreffenden Veranstaltungen wurden am 28.10.2020 um 10:00 verteilt. Weitere Plätze werden evtl. über Wartelisten zur Verfügung gestellt.
Diese Regel gilt von 02.10.2020 10:00 bis 26.10.2020 10:00. Die Anmeldung zu maximal 1 Veranstaltungen des Anmeldesets ist erlaubt.
