The materials and tasks will be uploaded on Digicampus every Sunday; the students are supposed to do the tasks and upload them every Monday.

Length: ca. 8-10 pages
An interview should be done with a German person at the university or outside of the university.It can be in form of a Skype interview, as well.
Topic: your culture and German culture (differences, similarities, presuppositions etc.)
A research paperin English should be submitted in the last sessionin digital format (via E-Mail). It includes a summary of theinterview, theassessment and reflection on it.
All written work should be word-processed, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font on paper with 1” margins.

Reading materials will be provided via Digicampus.
This seminar is forexchange students at the University of Augsburg. Its main aim is to explore the German (academic) culture. This course will help the studentsfind out how to deal with the challenges theymight face in Germany. Reading materials will be provided, and the studentscan try out (interactive)tasksand develop theirown ways of coping with the new and unfamiliar. Theywill have (online) contact withother international students and will have the opportunity to share theirexperiences with them and learn from each other. Mutual feedback and online discussions also help the studentsgain interesting insights into German culture and the way the other experience it. It is important to develop theirown strategies which are usefulto master intercultural encounters and misunderstandings.
Seminar participants are expected to participate actively, as this seminar course thrives on rich discussions and exchange of personal intercultural experiences. No previous knowledge or courses about Germany are necessary to participate in this course.
