Comment/Description

The Supplementary Course accompanies and must be taken together with the lecture course: Introduction to Literary Studies. In the supplementary course you will practice working with the genres, literary concepts and terminology introduced in the lecture by working through task sheets both individually and in groups. All supplementary courses follow the same curriculum (REGARDLESS of whether they are held by a tutor from English or American Studies), engaging with the lecture materials in smaller practice courses, each under the guidance of a tutor. The work done in this course directly prepares you for the kinds of tasks you will find in the exam at the end of the semester.

The supplementary courses begin only in the second week of term.

The supplementary course is obligatory for students in the following modules:
EAS-1011 (BA Anglistik/Amerikanistik Hauptfach und LA Gymnasium),
EAS-1012 (BA Anglistik/Amerikanistik Nebenfach) sowie für Austauschstudierende, die die entsprechende Punktzahl möchten.
EAS- 1013 (BA Anglistik/Amerikanistik Haupt u Nebenfach BaPo 2023 / Lehramt Gym LPO 2023 / Lehramt Realschule LPO 2023)
EAS-1012 (Lehramt Grund und Mittelschule LPO 2023):
IMPORTANT: For students in these modules, handing in 3 completed task sheets during the semester as a Studienleistung is required for taking part in the exam at the end of term!

This means, students of education who are doing "nicht vertieftes Lehramt" and began their studies BEFORE 2023 (Grundschule, Mittelschule, Realschule - module: EAS-1010) are not required to take this course, however, it is still highly recommended that you do take part.

Admission settings

The course is part of admission "ALW/ELW/NELK: Basismodul BA/LA: BÜ".
The following rules apply for the admission:
  • The enrolment is possible from 04.03.2024, 08:00 to 19.04.2024, 12:00.
  • A defined number of seats will be assigned to these courses.
    The seats in the affected courses have been assigned at 19.04.2024 on 13:00. Additional seats may be available via a wait list.
  • This setting is active from 04.03.2024 08:00 to 19.04.2024 12:00.
    Enrolment is allowed for up to 1 courses of the admission set.
