This seminar is for exchange students at the University of Augsburg. It provides an introductory overview of German society, including politics, economy, education, media and the UNESCO World Heritage status of the city of Augsburg. After topic introductions, discussions will center on course participants' intercultural experiences in and with Germany. The goal of this seminar is to provide exchange students with essential knowledge about their host country and facilitate an examination of differences and similarities between the participants' home cultures and their new host culture. Local intercultural life and culture will also be explored.
As Seminar participants will benefit from rich discussions and exchange of personal intercultural experiences, they are expected to participate actively.
Note: Course A and B are individual courses that cover different topics. The courses can be attended independently or combined.
