After the successful completion of this module, students understand epistemological possibilities and limitations of empirical research in the domain of business administration. They are capable of describing a dataset using the appropriate summary statistics and test hypotheses on the structure of the data. Students are aware of the general approaches to qualitative studies, experimental studies, survey-based studies and studies that are based on secondary data. Lastly, students gain an understanding of the fundamental methods for analyzing causal relationships and are able to properly interpret their results. We offer a statistics refresher course in advance of the Empirical Methods course. It will take place during the regular time slots of the course on April 11, 12, and 18. We highly recommend participating in these sessions to refresh your knowledge on descriptive statistics, theoretical distributions, and hypotheses testing. The first lecture will take place on Thursday, April 19. |
