Kommentar/Beschreibung

Writing is an essential part of doing research. However, it provides challenges for most researchers. In this workshop you will get the opportunity to learn tools and techniques for more productive and enjoyable academic writing. The workshop is organised around the main stages of the writing process: from the starting point of collecting and organising ideas to the final steps of revising and "letting go". In reflecting your own writing and your approach to writing, you will get too know yourself better as an academic writer. The workshop is centred around practical exercises and peer exchange, so you will be able to actively work on your current writing project(s) and reflect on your writing process.

Contents:
Day 1
Challenges of the writing process and what to do about them
The importance of sharpening your research topic
Fro think to ink: writing methods to get into the writing flow
The art of zero drafting: from idea to text in one hour

Day 2
Too many books, too little time: reading and processing literature
Getting organised: Developing text structure and argument
Revising, finalising and letting go of your writing project
Finding time and focus: how to establish productive and motivating writing routines
