Aim of course:

Students acquire knowledge of the methods and concepts of thermodynamics and statistical physics, including the description using statistical ensembles for both classical and quantum systems,
the ability to formulate and work on theoretical problems using the mathematical methods they have learned, and skills to work independently on problems in the areas mentioned.
Acquisition of key qualifications: independent work with textbooks in German and English, logical thinking, and argumentation, and ability to abstract
