This lecture gives a brief introduction into plasma physics and nuclear fusion, and then proceeds to discuss in more detail the processes occuring at the plasma wall interface. In the following summer semester, the focus will shift towards components that can sustain the intense heat and particle loads expected for a nuclear fusion reactor. For details please see the overview slides provided (Unit 00).
The lecture is suitable for anyone who has finished a bachelor course in physics or materials science. No prior knowledge of plasma physics is required.
