Comment/Description

The seminar is organized in partnership with the University of Campinas (Brazil). It explores the complementary experimental capabilities of neutron and synchrotron radiation in condensed matter physics. There will be a focus on current research at the respective large-scale partner facilities, the research reactor FRM-II and the new SIRIUS synchrotron radiation source. The curriculum combines presentations prepared by MSc participants with (1) basic lectures on the theory of scattering and neutron/X-ray spectroscopy, (2) applied lectures on practical aspects of specific techniques, given by
instrument scientists of our partner facilities, and (3) science highlight lectures invited from junior researchers of our international community.

Confirmed speakers:
Dr. Christian Franz (FRM II)
Dr. Narciso Souza Neto (SIRIUS / LNLS)
Dr. Anatoliy Senyshyn (FRM II)
Prof. Dr. Esuardo Granado (Unicamp)
Dr. Fabio Orlandi (ISIS / STFC)
Dr. Gilberto Fabbris (APS / Argonne Natl. Lab)
