Comment/Description

The seminar deals with central forms and problems of human-technology interaction. It consists of two parts. The first part deals with important forms and objects of technology, from medicine to genetics, from (new) media, robotics and artificial intelligence to the environment and climate. The second part focuses on the relationship between humans and technology based on the topics of “human-machine interaction”, “human enhancement”, “transhumanism”, and technology assessment. The relationship between humans, technology and technology critique will be discussed on the basis of classical positions in cultural history and philosophy (Prometheus, the Hippocratic Oath, Heidegger, Hans Jonas).
