Aufgrund des Präsenzlehrverbots wird das Seminar umgeleitet in das vhb-Seminar Differentielle und Persönlichkeitspsychologie im Kontext der Schule.
Motivation concerns the overall processes that give rise to initiating, sustaining, and regulating goal-directed behaviours. The aim of this seminar is to introduce and discuss a variety of prominent motivational theories and concepts that are relevant for the educational context. To solidify this motivational foundation and allow for a deeper understanding, state-of-the-art research that utilize the previously described motivational theories in studies aimed at improving teacher and student experiences will be analyzed. Finally, practical implications surrounding the importance of these motivational topics at the teacher level, student level, and institutional level will be discussed. From this seminar, students should gain a strong theoretical background of motivation in education, encompassing both theoretical and empirical aspects. They should also develop an understanding of how this knowledge can be applied on practical levels, including their own teaching endeavours.
