Voraussetzungen	(Advanced) Knowledge in operations management modeling; knowledge in simulation software (e.g. Anylogic, Simplant) is assumed; knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Java) is beneficial.

The course will be held by the guest lecturer Dr. Philipp Melchiors.

At the end of the module, the students are familiar with simulation problems arising in many practical applications and functional areas. They are able to model these problems, to understand the problem complexity, and to implement their models. This enables the students to analyze operations management problems and to make sound decisions.

Topics of the course are:
- Extended simulation features
- Simulation based optimization (Metaheuristics, Machine Learning)
- Case studies from service operations, production and logistics
