Voraussetzungen (Advanced) knowledge in Operations Management, Mathematics
(including Linear Programming), and Statistics, knowlegde in
optimization (e.g. OPL)/simulation (e.g. Arena) software is an
advantage
Lernorganisation At the end of the module, the students are familiar with the standard problems and models in Health Care Operations Management. They are able to model problems and to solve these models with appropriate mathematical methods. This enables them to analyze Health Care Operations Management problems and to make sound decisions in the field of health care operations management

Kommentar/Beschreibung

Note that the course will be offered in a compact format. Lectures and exercises take place between March 23rd and July 6th. Each meeting will consist of two back-to-back lectures/exercises (with a couple of exceptions).

The course deals with general topics of health care operations management and is divided into the following parts:
• Introduction to health care operations management
• Health care planning matrix
• Case mix and admission planning
• Nurse and physician scheduling
• Master surgery scheduling
• Patient flow planning
• Appointment scheduling
• (optional) Urgent and emergency services
