Building on the bachelor's course in statistical physics and thermodynamics, we explore theoretical concepts for describing many-particle systems out of equilibrium. We put special emphasis on non-equilibrium dynamics, discussing the dynamics of fields, the concept of coarse-graining, and modern non-equilibrium phenomena studied in the field of biophysics and condensed matter.
