Kommentar/Beschreibung

In the teaching module, approaches are addressed that can be used for the technical implementation of a clinical study. The process begins with the design of the clinical dataset based on the research question posed and with the implementation of the questionnaire, for example in an electronic data capture tool. Subsequently, clinical data are extracted from this or other source systems used for data collection, followed by transformation and upload of these data into a FHIR store, and concluded with the analysis of the required data.

During the implementation of the individual steps, different software tools and combinations thereof are employed. The individual tools are interconnected via custom-developed interfaces. In addition, the module covers further aspects such as the development of research data documentation, the provision and archiving of data and metadata, as well as the legal foundations of clinical research.
