X-ray radiation provides powerful tools to extract information on order and dynamics in condensed matter - on the relevant atomic scales of time and space. Recent years have seen major technological advances at synchrotron light sources, providing ever more detailed insights into complex materials. This course provides students with the knowledge required to exploit these capabilities in their research. Aspects of instrumentations are covered along with scattering theory, and experimental applications in quantum materials physics.
