Comment/Description

The aim of this course is to give a comprehensive introduction to English Romanticism and the so-called “First Generation Romantics”. We will approach their works by a close reading of selected poems. In order to be able to fully understand these texts, we shall also explore their socio-historical contexts and discuss key concepts / theories of English Romanticism.
