Participating at the 5th TED (Tag der Englischdidaktik) on 19 July is obligatory.
As readers are made by readers, teachers should be interested in literature and try to develop LCC (Literary Communicative Competence) with their students. According to the so-called A-Dekalog, music and song are very motivating and effective teaching materials. So both literary and musical texts should be integrated into the TEFL classroom. The way teachers and students as well as students and students interact with each other verbally and non-verbally is studied by the discipline of classroom discourse.
In this course, we will analyze and evaluate how fictional texts and singer-songwriter productions affect classroom discourse. Observing and reflecting on videotaped lessons (in different Gymnasium classes) can support us in this endeavour.
In addition, we will include a guest lesson by an experienced teacher as well as the 5th TEFL Day (“Tag der Englischdidaktik”) on “Classroom Discourse”.
