Kommentar/Beschreibung

Course Description:

This course will examine the practices of the naturalistic observation of and writing about nature in Canada over roughly the past thirty years from a range of authors of various backgrounds from across the country. We will explore themes of perceptions of and relationship to nature in Canada while also considering form and method by studying a selection of essays, poetry, and creative non-fiction. All texts will be provided, and students are not required to purchase any books. Weekly readings will consist of a mixture of primary and secondary materials. Classes will be structured around group work and class discussions. Assignments will include one reading reflection-discussion paper on one of the weekly readings, one creative non-fiction text written in the genre of nature writing, an outline and thesis statement for the final essay, and a final analytical essay.

Diese Veranstaltung gehört zum Anmeldeset "ALW/ELW/NELK: Vertiefungsmodul BA/LA: Ü".

Studierende der Anglistik/Amerikanistik und des Faches Englisch können sich bereits während der vorgezogenen Anmeldephase zur Sicherstellung des Studienfortschritts für die Aufbau- und Vertiefungsmodule anmelden. Hierzu wird ein gewisses Kontingent der Kursplätze im Zeitraum vom 19.02.2024 bis 28.02.2024 für die Anmeldung geöffnet. Die Verteilung der Plätze erfolgt am 01.03.2024. Bitte beachten Sie, dass in dieser Anmeldephase Studierende in höheren Fachsemestern bei der Verteilung der Plätze priorisiert werden.
Die allgemeine Anmeldephase beginnt am 04.03.2024 und endet am 08.04.2024.

Die Anmeldung zu maximal 1 Veranstaltungen des Anmeldesets ist erlaubt.
Die Anmeldung ist möglich von 04.03.2024, 08:00 bis 08.04.2024, 12:00.
Es wird eine festgelegte Anzahl von Plätzen in den Veranstaltungen verteilt.
Die Plätze in den betreffenden Veranstaltungen wurden am 10.04.2024 um 12:00 verteilt. Weitere Plätze werden evtl. über Wartelisten zur Verfügung gestellt.
