This course examines and expounds on the concept and methods of narrative analysis with the aim of providing ground knowledge and facilitating critical approaches to various texts. The course is interactive and hands-on and will be implementing studied theory to texts directly in order to get a good grasp of narrative analysis. Towards the end of the course, the participants should find themselves equipped with the necessary tools for comprehensive close reading of any text. Primary sources will mainly be short stories by various acclaimed authors.
This course is best combined with the Proseminar: Children's Fantasy Literature
Course materials will be provided.
