Comment/Description

This course comprises two interrelated strands aiming to bridge theory and practice. Within the theory strand, we will examine how intercultural learning has been (re-)conceptualised in national and international policy frameworks and curricula over the years. This examination will help us critically reflect on the changing concepts and goals of intercultural learning. These insights will make us aware of the contexts, conditions and competences learners need to engage successfully in intercultural encounters. Moving on to the teaching and learning strand, we will explore different spaces of intercultural encounters – online and offline, in and beyond the classroom – and various methods and materials to support our language learners in being and acting interculturally. Moreover, we will apply theory to practice by designing intercultural learning concepts. One of these concepts will focus on school exchanges, for instance.

Studierende der Anglistik/Amerikanistik und des Faches Englisch können sich bereits während der vorgezogenen Anmeldephase zur Sicherstellung des Studienfortschritts für die Aufbau- und Vertiefungsmodule anmelden. Hierzu wird ein gewisses Kontingent der Kursplätze im Zeitraum vom 19.02.2024 bis 28.02.2024 für die Anmeldung geöffnet. Die Verteilung der Plätze erfolgt am 01.03.2024. Bitte beachten Sie, dass in dieser Anmeldephase Studierende in höheren Fachsemestern bei der Verteilung der Plätze priorisiert werden
