Kommentar/Beschreibung

What defines quality journalism? And why is it important to discuss the fundamentals of journalistic writing, thorough research, and different journalism genres with students? These questions are explored in the seminar "Reading and Writing Journalistic Texts in English as a Foreign Language." In this course, we aim to develop specific methods for future teachers to introduce students to journalistic texts. Through individual and group activities, we will also try out and implement classroom exercises ourselves. Another key focus will be the analysis of commonly used textbooks. Together, we will examine to what extent journalistic texts have already been incorporated into the curriculum and how they are handled in teaching materials. Additionally, we will explore the role of AI in journalism, the risks posed by chatbots like ChatGPT in a journalistic context, and where the potential benefits lie. Teaching materials (primary and secondary sources) will be provided.

Das Proseminar "Podcasts in ELT" findet als Blockseminar am Donnerstag, 03.04.2025, Freitag, 04.04.2025 und Samstag, 24.05.2025 statt. Alle Plätze werden daher bereits in der vorgezogenen Anmeldephase vergeben. Eine Anmeldung in der regulären Anmeldephase ist nicht möglich.

The proseminar "Podcasts in ELT" will be held as a block seminar on Thursday, 3rd of April 2025, Friday, 4th of April 2025, and Saturday, 24th of May 2025. All spots will be allocated during the early registration period. Registration during the regular registration phase is not possible.

Studierende der Anglistik/Amerikanistik und des Faches Englisch können sich bereits während der vorgezogenen Anmeldephase zur Sicherstellung des Studienfortschritts für die Aufbau- und Vertiefungsmodule anmelden. Hierzu wird ein gewisses Kontingent der Kursplätze im Zeitraum vom 24.02.2025 bis 05.03.2025 für die Anmeldung geöffnet. Die Verteilung der Plätze erfolgt am 07.03.2025. Bitte beachten Sie, dass in dieser Anmeldephase Studierende in höheren Fachsemestern bei der Verteilung der Plätze priorisiert werden.
Die allgemeine Anmeldephase beginnt am 10.03.2025 und endet am 14.04.2025.

Students of English and American Studies, as well as those studying English within a teacher-training degree, can register for the advanced and specialization modules during the early registration phase to ensure their academic progress. A certain quota of course places will be made available for registration from the 24th of February , 2025, to the 5th of March, 2025. The allocation of places will take place on the 7th of March, 2025. Please note that during this registration phase, students in higher semesters and M.A. students will be given priority in the allocation process.
The general registration phase begins on the 10th of March, 2025, and ends on the 14th of April, 2025.
Folgende Regeln gelten für die Anmeldung:
  • Es wird eine festgelegte Anzahl von Plätzen in den Veranstaltungen verteilt.
    Die Plätze in den betreffenden Veranstaltungen wurden am 16.04.2025 um 12:00 verteilt. Weitere Plätze werden evtl. über Wartelisten zur Verfügung gestellt.
  • Die Anmeldung ist möglich von 10.03.2025, 12:00 bis 14.04.2025, 12:00.
  • Diese Regel gilt von 10.03.2025 12:00 bis 14.04.2025 12:00.
    Die Anmeldung zu maximal 1 Veranstaltungen des Anmeldesets ist erlaubt.
