Students taking the seminar “Film” in the module EAS-1411 will automatically be allotted to the corresponding Übung “Film Analysis” (Sabrina Mittermeier, Thursdays 5.30 – 7 p.m.). Please be sure to keep this slot free.
This seminar wants to introduce students to the medium of film, discussing narrative and genre conventions, as well as how to analyze it academically using the toolbox of film studies. The corresponding Übung will delve deeper into film analysis and both classes will work with a wide variety of examples spanning several decades of American film history, structured according to genres such as drama, comedy, horror or science fiction.
